Blackout: A pattern where you must cover the whole Bingo card to win. Also called “Coverall”.

Bonanza: This is a progressive coverall Jackpot, which is usually played as the 13th game of the session. Forty-five numbers are drawn before the session and players mark them on separate Bingo cards, which they then set aside. The countdown usually begins at 48 numbers (or less) and goes up one number per week to 52 numbers or until someone wins.

Caller: The person who calls out the Bingo numbers.

Coverall: A pattern where you must cover the whole Bingo card to win. Also called “Blackout”.

Dauber: A dauber is a special Bingo pen with a foam tip, which the player marks the Bingo cards with.

Early Bird Game: A Bingo game that starts earlier than the other regularly scheduled game.

Free Space: The center square of the card, which is located in the middle of the “N” column. This space always counts towards your winning pattern.

Game Board: The display board above your card or cards, which shows you the balls in play.

Game Room: When playing Bingo online, some online games tend to divide the players into game rooms.

Hard-way Bingo: Bingo without the use of the free space.

Jackpot: A large prize typically awarded for achieving a difficult pattern, such as a Blackout, within a specific number of balls drawn.

Minimum Buy-in: The minimum amount a player must spend to be eligible for prizes.

Money Ball: A number drawn before the game, which will double a player's winnings if Bingo hits on that particular number.

Pattern: The shape you need to cover on your card with called-out numbers. Typically, it is a straight line - a vertical, horizontal or diagonal one.

Progressive Jackpot: A Jackpot that gets bigger and bigger until it is won. There is usually a separate buy-in for Progressive Jackpot games.

Rainbow Pack: A pack that allows a player to play for three or four different prize denominations at once.

Six-pack, Nine-pack: Six or nine numbers in a block on one card.

Wild Number: This variation of the game is usually played on a double Bingo that leads into a triple Bingo. The first number drawn determines the wild number. For instance, if the number 29 is drawn, all numbers ending in 9 should be marked off.
