Carlos Mortensen In First Place at The WPT L.A. Poker Classic
The race to win the WPT L.A. is still on. Twenty-two players remain in the running. Popular poker star, Carlos Mortensen is in the lead. The WPT is a part of the World Poker Tour, a well respected poker franchise.
All poker fans know that just because a person is leading the tournament on a particular day, doesn’t mean that they will win the entire thing. The final table won’t be established until Thursday and a lot can change between then and now. However, Mortensen is an excellent player, winning the WSOP (World Series of Poker) Main Event earlier in the decade, so he has a real shot at winning the entire thing.
Though the event is far from over, as of now, Mortensen is the man to beat. He has accumulated a whopping 1.67 million chips. Mark Newhouse is trailing him with 1,308,000 chips.
The remaining 22 will all walk away from the WPT L.A. Poker Classic with cash. Each will at least win $45,000. The final nine will earn at least $100,000.
The top 10 remaining players include Carlos Mortensen (1,669,000), Mark Newhouse (1,308,000), Raymond Dolan (1,229,000), Masa Kagawa (1,129,000), Adras Koroknai (1,002,000), Tri Huynh (942,000), Dan “Wretchy” Martin (684,000), Jean-Claude Moussa (672,000), Steve Sung (671,000), and Jim Casement (609,000).
