Connecticut Governor in Favor of Online Gambling
The Governor of Connecticut, Dannel P. Malloy wants to legalize online gambling in his state. He is in favor of doing so for several reasons, one of the most important being job creation. The discussion regarding legalizing gambling in each state has essentially been made a non-factor, considering the DOJ’s recent ruling concerning legalized online gambling. Pretty soon, residents of Connecticut may be logging into their computers and playing poker, blackjack and the like. The same is true of residents in other states.
The future of brick and mortar gambling websites in Connecticut is not very good, considering the upcoming competition of its neighbors, New York, and Massachusetts, for gambling dollars. This makes the prospect of online gambling more attractive than ever.
.According to Malloy, “Everything has to be on the table,” “We’ve got to defend these two [casinos]. You can’t go to sleep on thousands of jobs connected to those two facilities. That’s our strength … We have to build them up. “We have a stake in protecting that industry.”
