Europe Using Online Gambling To Bring In Needed Monies

Online gambling has become a way for European governments to raise much needed cash.  Europe has been far more lenient in terms of online gambling, then the U.S., though this may soon change. Legislation to legalize internet gambling is ‘on the table,’ in the United States. 

There has been opposition to legalizing online gambling in Europe just like there is in the United States. However, there seems to be differences in motivation. In Europe, those against it typically are those who fear that it will overtake stat sponsored gambling and lottery.

In the United States, the opposition is mostly due to the fear that people will become addicted.  Underage gambling is another concern. Many European countries have pushed passed those who oppose the legalizing gambling because of financial woes.   That hasn’t quite happened in the United States.
