The dust has cleared and a National Heads-Up Poker Champion has been crowned. This year’s winner is a bit different from the ones of previous years. Annie Duke, the winner, is the first woman ever to win the National Heads-up Poker Championship. Those who weren’t there to witness it will be able to watch the tournament, or least some of it on NBC.

Annie faced Paul Wasikca in the final round. Wasikca is a good player in his own right, winning the National Heads Up Poker Championship in 2007.
Until the next event, the very accomplished Annie Duke will be able to bask in her most recent success. An excellent and already well-respected player, this win only helps to solidify her well-deserved place of honor in the game.
