Bystander Dies From Injuries From a Shooting Outside of a Capital Casino

An innocent bystander has passed away after a police officer and a suspect was involved in a shot out that took place early Sunday morning outside of the Capital Casino that is located in Sacramento.
The gunfight occurred around 1:30am outside of the card room, the officer that was involved was working the security detail Sunday morning, the suspect that was involved may have fired his gun up to 17 times during this shot out.
The victim of the shot out has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 36 year old Nicholas Broadway who lived in Sacramento. Nicolas Broadway’s family members state that he has a son who is at the age of 15 years old and has been employed by the state for the last 3 governors of California State.
When the incident occurred Broadway was immediately rushed to the local hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to the injuries that had occurred. The police stated that Broadways injuries occurred due to the suspect. The incident in question occurred when the police officer that was working security detail on Sunday morning at the Capital Casino was call to break up a fight that was taking place in the parking lot.
A patron of the casino stated that they just saw a brawl going on in the parking lot. Two security officers as well as the officer in question were successful in breaking up the two groups of people and removed them to two different places within the parking lot. When a man from within one group pulled out a gun and fired at the other group of people, stated one police officer.
One officer then found cover as he returned fire, the suspect ran from the scene during the gunfire. Investigators are now checking the surveillance videos located at the casino in order to identify the suspect.
