The online casino scene is constantly shifting. New technology is changing the industry’s landscape while existing is moving in new directions. It was recently noted that one of the major shifts occurring currently on the iGaming landscape is the rise of progressive jackpot networks.
In 2022 we are seeing progressive jackpot titles clubbed together into networks. Some of the companies involved in these jackpot networks include SoftSwis, Yggdrasil, and Microgaming.
Microgaming in the Lead
Microgaming’s Mega Moolah network is currently in the lead as the top paying progressive jackpot network online. Its overall jackpot payouts sit at €1.5 billion with Mega Moolah jackpot wins contributing a large portion of that sum. Mega Moolah network has paid out close to €150 million in the past year. During that time it has risen from 2 to 8 slot titles with more planned for 2022. Even more noteworthy is that its Absolootly Mad slot title broke the Guinness World Record for the largest online jackpot payout, €19.4 million.

Other companies have taken note. SoftSwiss saw the potential and designed a ‘Jackpot Aggregator’ tool. Operators using this platform club together video slots from various providers with the main jackpot that continues to rise.
Another jackpot platform on the rise is Yggdrasil’s slots collection. The company is rising through the ranks of progressive jackpot payouts. They recently reported a record jackpot payout of €7.8 million. And to kick off the new year, its Joker Millions paid out €6 million in 2022. The Head of Products and Programs, Stuart McCarthy, said that the company could not have asked for a better start of the year.
