Skrill Adds Bitcoin Transaction Support

Skrill, one of the best known online casino payment methods worldwide, has announced adding support of four cryptocurrencies on its platform. Namely, more than 25 million users of the e-wallet are now able to add Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum as currency options.

This means that Skrill customers are enabled to both buy and sell the previously mentioned cryptocurrencies using a total of 40 fiat currency options accepted at the e-wallet; some of these include USD, EUR and NZD. Therefore, this is a huge win for both Skrill and the cryptocurrencies.

However, it should be noted that even though the platform update was rolled out in more than 30 countries worldwide, users from USA and Russia are not on that list. The reason for this decision lies in the strict cryptocurrency laws these two countries have.

Sending and Receiving in BCH to Be Introduced Soon Too

Commenting on the news, the CEO of Skrill, Lorenzo Pellegrino explained how the world of trading with cryptocurrency was exciting and dynamic. Therefore, he pointed out, their e-wallet was lending itself to the environment. Pellegrino also highlighted that Skrill users would now be able to “easily and quickly” make cryptocurrency transactions via their platform; the service is here to stay, he also revealed.

According to the Skrill’s CEO, users were willing to experiment with the ever-popular cryptocurrencies; however, they were often wondering which trading platforms to use. With Skrill accepting four widely-traded cryptocurrencies, they now have a reputable option for doing so.

Nonetheless, for the time being, Skrill customers can only buy and sell the four cryptocurrencies. The option to send and receive in BCH is still not available; however, this should be introduced soon as well. Like Pellegrini put it, they didn’t know where to start and made the entire process very straightforward.

Sister Company Neteller Will Also Introduce Cryptocurrency Services Soon

Another interesting detail that was revealed was the fact that Neteller will also introduce cryptocurrency services soon. This e-wallet is also known to and often used by online gamblers as it offers fast and reliable cash transactions. Neteller is a sister-company of Skrill and their parent company is the popular payment processing service the Paysafe Group.

The company was previously known under the name Optimal Payments and then rebranded in November 2015 after the acquisition of several popular online payment services. For example, Skrill joined the Paysafe family in March 2015 after Optimal Payments bought it for $1.2 billion.
