Happenings in Online Gambling: February 2010

There have been some major occurrences in online gambling during the month of February. Two pieces of legislation were introduced. They were the Internet Gambling Regulation Consume Protection and Enforcement Act and the Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act.

Also, this month, Visa and Mastercard decided to stop their members from making deposits using their cards. Mastercard initiated this move first and Visa followed suit shortly thereafter. Because of this, gamblers who routinely used either (or both) of these credit cards to make deposits are being forced to look into alternatives. Available options include prepaid cards, e-wallets and vouchers.
