MasterCard Puts Their Foot Down. No Money For Gambling!

The debate over whether or not gambling is legal for U.S. citizens is one that has been contentious and confusing. The UIGEA act has made it quite unclear in some people’s minds at least, whether or not Americans can lawfully gamble. Well, Mastercard has chosen a side. They have made it clear that they will not support online gambling for Americans by announcing that they will block individuals from the United States who try to make deposits at online casinos and poker websites.

Several poker rooms have already made the adjustments. Bodog, Full Tilt Poker, Doyles Room and Ultimate Bet have all taken down the credit card’s logo. As it stands, U.S. poker players can still add money to their casino and/or poker accounts via bank wire, Visa and electronic check.
