Super Bowl Poker Tournament To Raise Money For Autism

Autism is a condition that affects millions of individuals. Most often, it is diagnosed at a very young age, leaving parents scared, confused and distressed. One couple who is very well acquainted with the condition is actors, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy. McCarthy’s son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. The power couple is working together to raise money to benefit those with autism via a poker tournament, the Saturday Night Spectacular during Super Bowl weekend. Proceeds will benefit Generation Rescue.

 This is an annual fundraiser.  Lots of top celebrities are invited and the event not only includes a poker tournament but also top-notch entertainment. This year, attendees and participants will be able to enjoy Cirque USA and entertainer, Jim Karol. The event will be hosted at the Bank of America Tower, today, February 5th 2010. 

The poker tournament will be played in a Texas Hold’em format.   Play begins at midnight. Thirty people will participate. Half of them will be celebrities. The last player standing (the winner), will win an all-expense trip to the 2011 Super Bowl in Dallas for two. $10,000 will also be donated in the victor’s name to Generation Rescue.
