New .bet Domain Announced by Afilias

Online gambling operators can now apply for a .bet domain name designed especially for gambling sites.
Afilias, a popular domain registry operator, has recently introduced .bet, an online address designed for gambling activities in general. The online and offline betting and gaming activities include playing games of chance, betting on sports and other related activities.

According to Afilias, the .bet domain name is short and easy to remember and it will immediately reveal to the general audience that a website is related to online betting and gaming. Only trademark holders that are eligible can register for the domain and they have until February 4, 2016 to apply for a .bet address.

Launch Dates for .bet Domain

As of January 5, 2016 through February 4, 2016 online gambling operators can register for .bet domain. Only eligible trademark holders can apply and to do so, they should visit the authorized register.

From February 8th through 12th .bet domain names are going to be available via the Dutch auction format. At this auction, available domain names will start at an already set maximum price. This price will be lowered on a daily basis as operators decide at what price they want to register. This ‘landrush’ period ends on February 12, 2016. Interested trademark holders and operators should start thinking about the names that want to register on .bet so they are ready when the landrush period starts.

The chief marketing officer at Afilias, Roland LaPlante, told in a press release that he is very excited to introduce the company’s .bet domain and he believes that it’s the top level domain especially for the sports betting and online gambling. “Operators that offer sports betting or casino gaming products and services can greatly benefit form a .bet address. It is the best online address for all games of luck and wagering activities,” he added.
