ABOUT SATSUMO’S REVENGE SLOTS
While there are a lot of Japanese things we love, there’s no getting around the fact a lot of their things are just plain weird to us foreigners. That said, we’re not sure if fruits turned martial arts fighters would really fly over there either, despite the clear inspiration drawn from Japanese culture. The martial arts, the Washitsu in which the title is set in and peaceful strumming of music, it’s all very oriental. The title has 5 reels and 25 fixed paylines.
Symbols include playing card icons as well as several fruit symbols. You have blueberries, cherries, lemons, strawberries and satsumas all gracing the reels, and all rocking a different style of ninja or samurai. The slot features three special symbols including two Wilds and benefits from a bonus game that awards free spins and starts with the Rock, Paper, Scissors game adding more excitement to it.
HOW TO PLAY IT
Playable for as little as $0.25 up to $500 per spin, the wide betting range offered by Satsumo’s Revenge will no doubt please low rollers and hard-core gamblers who want to bet big and win even bigger. The game has a medium volatility with an RTP of 95.83%, which is about average for most video slots. The largest jackpot you can win is worth 1,000x the wager.
There is an Autoplay option available for gamblers who want to make use of it, but it is rather barebones only allowing for you to set the amount of spins you want to use or not. You can’t set win or loss thresholds, or single win limits, like other developers allow you to.
You have three different special symbols. The first two are Wilds. The third symbol is the Scatter represented by the two blueberry warriors, who appear on the first and fifth reel and activate the feature. They have no cash prize of their own.
You have a regular, golden-red dragon Wild which simply appears on the playing field and can replace everything except for Scatters. Shuriken Wild acts in much the same way, but can appear on the fifth reel only and create additional Wilds on the playing field or add multipliers to existing ones.
When the blueberry fighters land on the first and fifth reel, they activate free spins. Both fighters have five hearts and after you select your champion, you fight in the Rock, Paper, Scissors competition. If you win, you get an extra free spins and sticky Wild on the reels. If you draw, you only get a free spin and if you lose the round, you lose a life. Once you run out of all five lives, the free spins end.
The two blueberry warriors look rather cool and the fact you have to draw both in precise locations makes the feature difficult to trigger yet highly exciting at the same time. Scatter does not pay anything by itself.
The single largest win you can get is worth 1,000x, but there’s really no upper limit on how high you can make the wins climb. This means you could win multiple 1,000x scores if you’re particularly lucky.
