NetEnt’s Most Anticipated Slot for the Year Conan Is Finally Out!
- September 25, 2019 By Oliver Young -
Ever since NetEnt announced the release of the branded slot Conan during the 2019 ICE conference in London, we’ve been waiting impatiently for the slot to hit online casinos. And finally, the developer announced that the slot was available across all of its partner online casinos.
Conan Video Slot Details
Conan is, for those of you who aren’t familiar with him, a fictional character, a sword hero that lived and fought in the Hyborian Age. You get a glance of this age in the background of the stone-built reels set in an ancient temple, as you will see a small snowy village, with the thunderous skies above it, setting the apocalyptic tone we know from the 1982 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is clear that the developer designed the slot impeccably, with unmatched attention to every detail.
The 6 reels with 4 rows and 24 paylines and the pay-both-ways mechanics only make the brand new interface, first introduced in Arcane Reel Chaos, even more exciting, as you will see that the base game is divided into three identical 2×4 sections. Each of these sections is connected to its corresponding feature that gets triggered when the respective symbol lands. That’s why you have 3 of these unique features. The Tower Wild feature gets triggered when the Tower Wild lands on the 1st and 2nd reel, where it expands to cover the reel(s) either fully or partially. The Mystery Symbols feature is active when the Mystery Symbol appears on the 3rd and 4th reel, transforming into matching symbols. If the symbol appears fully Stacked, it further triggers the Mystery Multiplier feature. Conan starts fighting a giant snake and with every blow it increases the Multiplier by 1x, to a minimum of 3x and a maximum of 7x. If the Mystery Symbol lands simultaneously with the Tower and Battle Wild, the Thoth-Amon feature is triggered, where you’ll get 3 to 6 Mystery Symbols on reels 2 through 5. And finally, you have the Battle Wilds feature if the Battle Wild lands on the 5th and 6th reel, which will expand to adjacent reels sideways up to three positions.
At random, any of the reel pairs mentioned can light up and trigger the Linked Reels feature. You will see two reels synchronizing and displaying the same matching symbols to boost your wins.
3 to 6 Scatters trigger 10 to 50 Free Spins, respectively. Before they start, you will need to choose 1 out of 3 modes. The medium volatile ones are the Walls of Tarantia and the City of Thieves Free Spins. In the former, the Battle Wilds will expand sideways up to three positions, while in the latter the Tower Wilds will expand to cover reels either fully or partially. The most volatile mode is the Temple of the Serpent Free Spins, where Mystery Symbols appear. Should they appear Stacked, you get the Mystery Multiplier feature just like in the base game. The Thoth-Amon feature here is triggered by 5 to 9 Mystery Symbols. There’s a chance for the Linked Reels feature to get triggered here, as well, which will produce up to 6 linked reels.
Bryan Upton, the Director of Games at NetEnt, stated that due to the globally-appreciated brand and the character himself, Conan was an unrivalled addition to NetEnt’s huge portfolio of branded titles.
He added that while developing the slot, they stayed true to every detail that made Conan so extremely popular for all these years, adding some of NetEnt’s touch and fun twists that made the slot a mind-blowingly playable game with a variety of cool features.
